I am Joe Hasse – owner & operator of The Breakup Branch LLC. Growing up on a dairy farm in WI and getting an engineering degree makes you look at things differently. You are constantly looking to improve current ideas or concepts. During my many years of hunting, whether it be for deer, turkey, or elk, something I always found myself doing was trying to break-up my outline to make it harder for the game I was after to spot me. When deer hunting, I’d always cut branches from nearby trees or bushes and carry them up into my deer stand and I’d stick them in any opening I could find on my portable stand. I’d wedge them into the chain links or behind a strap, anything I could do just to create some cover to hide my movements. The same would be done on the ground while hunting turkeys and elk. Propping up branches and either sitting behind them or in front of them. While experiencing this, I knew there must be a better way. In the summer of 2023, I began working on a portable “branch” and the Break-Up Branch was created. The patent pending design combines a realistic artificial pine branch and heavy-duty rubber “twist-tie” that allows you to attach the branch to virtually anything. The pine branch provides great cover and break-up, and the attached twist-tie provides the flexibility to use the branch in multiple ways throughout the season and for different game. During summer scouting trips to early deer hunting to waterfowl in the fall, to winter coyote hunting to spring turkey hunting, these branches can be used all year long.
